Join us for 2009-2010!

Thank you so much for joining us for our 2008-2009 season! We had a great time performing with the Washington Saxophone Quartet and the Capital City Symphony. Our Spaghetti Dinner and Silent auction was a big hit (many thanks to the merchants and supporters who donated and bid)! We're off for the summer and look forward to seeing you on December 5 or 6, 2009, March 27 or 28, 2010, and June 5 or 6, 2010! Watch this website for more details....

The Capitol Hill Chorale was proud to be a partner in The Big Read-DC (April 23 - May 23, 2009) The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. The Big Read – D.C. is presented by the Humanities Council of Washington, DC and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
This year’s featured novel is THE HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER by Carson McCullers. The author spent many years practicing the piano in hopes of becoming a concert pianist. In the book, Mick Kelly mirrors the young Carson , dreaming of becoming a musician and listening to the NBC orchestra conducted by Arturo Toscanini on the radio. A favorite piece was Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, which will be performed by the Capitol Hill Chorale and the Capital City Symphony for our May concert.
