European Tour Performances Announced

Members of the Capitol Hill Chorale will be performing in Vienna, Salzburg, and Prague

For the first time in its history, the Capitol Hill Chorale will be taking its act "on the road", touring to major venues in Austria and the Czech Republic. Led by Artistic Director Frederick Binkholder, members of the Chorale along with choristers from some of DC's best known groups will travel to Vienna, Salzburg, and Prague from July 9th to the 19th.

Performances will include musical support for masses at St. Stephen's Cathedral and Wallfahrtskirche Hafnerberg in Vienna and St. Tyr in Prague, a joint concert at Christuskirche in Salzburg, and an evening concert at St. Ignatius in Prague. We are very excited to include music from our Composer-in-Residence Kevin Siegfried as well as selections from Paliashvili's Liturgy, edited by CHC founder Parker Jayne. Our programs will also include music by Mozart, Brahms, Bruckner, and Rachmaninoff, and American composers Durham, Cagle, Jamison, Parker, and Burleigh.

We are very happy to be bringing the music of Kevin Siegfried to European audiences as part of a selection of American music that includes shape note and spirituals.

Assistant Director Jinsun Cho will accompany and perform a selection of organ pieces in addition to the programs described here.
